John founded Hunerberg Construction Company in 1984. As a result of a solid reputation for honesty and quality workmanship, continuous referrals and multiple repeat customers led to the growth of the company. John believes that hard work, a high standard of quality and customer service is the reason for the company’s success. These values have allowed Hunerberg Construction Company to create new and lasting relationships with customers throughout the years.
John manages the day to day operations of the business, estimates and project manages a variety of projects. John’s extensive knowledge in all areas of construction has led to expert witness and repair work in water intrusion and structural defect cases as well.
Phil began his construction career in 2005 working for Marshal Field’s/Macy’s. In 2008 he started working as a project manager for a Minneapolis based general contractor, where he found a passion for commercial construction.
Phil joined Hunerberg Construction in 2014. He specializes in retail, food industry, educational, property management, senior living, and medical commercial work. He has successfully managed thousands of jobs, ranging from simple one-day projects, to roll outs and multi-year, multi-million-dollar renovations. Phil has also completed projects for several national retail chain companies and has worked in all 48 contiguous states. He enjoys building strong working relationships with his clients as well as the Hunerberg field teams, to promote seamless communication and successful project outcomes.
Ben first started working for Hunerberg Construction when he was in high school. Over the summers he was employed as a laborer and during the school year as an office assistant. After graduating high school, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in organizational management at the University of Minnesota – Duluth. He continued working as a laborer over the summers throughout college. Once he graduated from UMD he decided to move back to the Twin Cities and continue his education at the Dunwoody College of Technology. He was a full-time student and worked part time in the office as an assistant project manager. After 2 years he graduated with an associate degree in construction project management.
After completing his associate degree in 2017 he started working full-time at Hunerberg Construction as a full-fledged project manager. His main focus has been tenant improvement projects and he has been diversifying his projects to include residential, institutional, retail, and moisture intrusion work.
John began his construction career in 1998 as a project manager for a commercial roofing firm in Minneapolis. He quickly realized that his future was in General Contracting, and made the move to small general contracting firm where he developed a strong base of clients in the hospitality industry.
John joined Hunerberg Construction in 2011, bringing with him over a decade’s worth of experience building and remodeling bars and restaurants for national chains, franchisees, and local independent operators. Today he continues to build on this customer base while expanding to serve office, industrial, and other commercial customers.
Evan started in the construction industry at the age of 9 as a laborer for a local mason in his hometown of Cokato Minnesota. after graduating high school, Evan enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served four years on active duty as a Security Police Officer. Upon fulfilling his Air Force enlistment, Evan returned to the metro area and worked as a journeyman carpenter before joining Hunerberg Construction in 2007.
Extensive carpentry and drywall experience combined with his participation in the mentoring program at Hunerberg Construction has trained Evan well for his position as a field superintendent. His knowledge as a carpenter and solid work ethic has been a welcome addition to the staff at Hunerberg Construction.
Dennis began his construction career at age 14 remodeling basements and baths, building decks, and installing windows. After graduating high school, he worked for several years as a building maintenance technician.
Dennis started with Hunerberg Construction in 2003 as a carpenter and started overseeing Construction Projects in 2006. Today Dennis runs a variety of projects and is hard at work training up the next generation of carpenters and superintendents.
Aaron started his construction career in 2003 as a finish carpenter. Soon he was leading crews working on a diverse range of commercial and residential projects.
Aaron joined Hunerberg Construction in 2010. Aaron has been involved in numerous water intrusion repair projects, residential remodels, restaurant build-outs/remodels and retail remodels. His attention to detail, communication and work ethic has resulted in Aaron performing as a Job Superintendent for numerous projects.
Dan worked over 20 years in manufacturing engineering prior to joining Hunerberg Construction. During this time, he built his own home and began applying his skills toward construction projects both large and small. Dan eventually started his own company remodeling bathrooms, kitchens, basements and building decks.
Dan joined Hunerberg Construction in 2014 and was soon supervising projects ranging from office and restaurant remodels, multi-family construction and residential. Dan’s wealth of experience combined with his communication and leadership skills make him an invaluable asset to the Hunerberg team.
Ramiz began his construction career in Germany in 1991 where he worked on both residential and commercial projects. In 1999 he moved to the US and found his way to Minnesota where he joined the Hunerberg team as a carpenter.
Ramiz now heads up our residential division and works on moisture intrusion projects
